The German trade magazine "Messer-Magazin" called on readers to take part in a design competition for a new Walther folding knife. Simon Telpl's design won out against eleven other proposals in the final round and received the most readers' votes. In addition to a limited edition of 100 pieces (Walther MME with D2 blade and G10 handle), which is already sold out, there is the cheaper version WALTHER EDK (EverydayKnife) which corresponds to the Telpl design but has a blade made of 440-C steel and plastic handles.
